MANHATTAN, Kan. – For the third straight year a record crowd experienced Ahearn Fund Member Appreciation Day as more than 4,000 supporters attended Saturday’s event prior to K-State’s 37-7 win over UMass, tripling the number of members who attended the first appreciation day back in 2011.

Those in attendance were treated to a grilled steak dinner provided by NBO3 Technologies and Hyvee Catering and entertainment from master of ceremonies and Assistant Athletics Director Lon Floyd. The event also featured approximately 100 Wildcat student-athletes, remarks from Athletics Director John Currie, head coaches Bruce Weber, Steve Bietau and Kristi Knight and performances from the K-State Marching Band, cheerleaders and Willie Wildcat.

“This event is the Ahearn Fund’s way of thanking our tremendous members at every level, from all over the state and country for everything they do for K-State Athletics,” said Senior Associate Athletics Director Chad Weiberg. “The Ahearn Fund staff, in addition to our 438 student-athletes, would like to thank all 9,000 members who make a world-class student-athlete experience possible.”

To join the Ahearn Fund for as little as $50 per year, visit or contact a staff member toll-free at 888-232-9074.
