Texas A&M Head Coach Mike Sherman

On his team's performance...
"I can tell you we got our butt-kicked every which way tonight. There is no question about that, we got our butt-kicked. It goes on everybody, offense, defense, special teams, coaches and staff, we all got our butts-kicked tonight. This is hard. I have felt like every week of the season we have gotten better. Going back to the preseason, every week I could see us getting better and better. When we started the season, even in the last two ballgames, I really thought we got better each week. Today we did not get better. We took a step backwards today. For whatever reason, things kind of got away from us. You have got to give K-State all the credit, they played a great ballgame. They were physical, tough and explosive. They came back from a tough loss last week and they handed it to us. Hopefully we can learn from this, and do the same to somebody else."

On the play of Jerrod Johnson...
"Jerrod was getting exposed, and we weren't protecting great. I thought it was in our best interest to see if Jerrod could get some work and pull us out of this thing a little bit better than we did. I wanted to give him and the team some work with their timing and rhythm once the game was out of hand.

On how his team handled adversity ...
"We had the fumble right away with Jamie (McCoy), on a play that he ran very well last week. We talked about this play, we walked through it this afternoon at a local high school, we went over it in meetings, and we fumbled the ball in the game. That was the starting point, and then things started to unravel from there. We gave them great field position, and we just did not handle the adversity of the game very well. Things just snowballed on us."
