K-State Head Coach Bill Snyder

Opening Statement...
"I think it was a meaningful win quite obviously after last week's lost, we played better than last week. I thought our youngsters played as well in the 1st half of the ball game than we have all year, they got back on the improvement track. Texas A&M is a better ball team, I think, than what they showed today. They're going through the same growing pains that we are, so consistency is a real issue. I thought they played real well last week against Oklahoma State and didn't play as well this week, but we had something to do with that, too. We made a few mistakes but our focus and concentration was a lot better. We just played better."

On what set this up, something this week in practice or in the game...
"You go into every week hoping you'll play as you're capable of. I don't predict those things, if I did I would be doing something in Vegas now. We are just trying to get better -- that's what we do week-in and week-out.  We had a big letdown last week. It's not about losing, it's about not making improvements that we were focused on. So we got out of that and had to think about next week.

On whether it was possible to play better in first half...
"Yes we could have. We could have by being able to block everything more crisply, not make a few mental mistakes that we made.  You can always play better. If it was perfect we would score on every snap or force a fumble and recover it every snap they had the ball. We didn't do that, but we did play well.

On the play of the defense...
"The defense played very well in the first half of the game... the offense, defense and the special teams all played well. I don't think there was one that played any better than the other in the first half. I think everybody played reasonably well.

On the week of preparation in practice....
"Each week has a focus that ties into our 16 goals. The whole week, the main focus was on playing with great spirit and effort and I think the guys are closing the gap on that. I was concerned with the capacity of staying focused and being able to visualize the whole process. It takes so much to read into the process and know your reads, and look through the whole play before it happens. We know as youngsters it's easy to just play the game, and you just play the game you don't always play your best. We practiced on Friday which I normally don't like to do. Honestly, we just have to identify our mistakes and know what we did wrong and correct the mistakes.
