K-State Player Quotes

Junior Forward Curtis Kelly

On how it felt to be playing again...
"It was cool. I tried to just get back into it. At the beginning it was a little shaky for me, but I tried to just take my time and stay focused. Of course my first game back was going to be fun."

On getting out-rebounded by Loyola Chicago...
"I do not know, that is something that is really bothering me right now. I was thinking about it in the locker room, and it is really bothering me. I think that I have really got to focus and improve on rebounding better."

Junior Guard Jacob Pullen

On getting off to a slow start...
"We had a bad practice yesterday. I told (Coach Martin) that I take full responsibility for that. We just were sluggish and were not really energetic about practicing. That kind of carried over to tonight's game. Looking back at the beginning of the game, a lot of lazy things were going on. We got off to a really slow start, but in the second half we really tried to pick it up. We just try to leave everything on the floor so that we can focus on tomorrow's practice, and then Sunday's game."

On the play of Curtis Kelly...
"I thought that he played well. He scored the ball well in the post, which we definitely need. We need somebody that we can get the ball to in the post and not really worry about doing anything but scoring the ball. If he gets double-teamed, he has the ability to pass the ball out to an open man. I thought that he played well, but again (Coach Martin) is going to be on his case about rebounding."
