Western Illinois Head Coach Quotes
Head Coach Jim Molinari

On whether he found some rotations that worked out for the team...
"We competed longer tonight and I think that is the big thing. When you look at it, they just over powered us inside but for us to play that pressure and to have only 12 turnovers, that is pretty good. We competed better than we did last game but they just wore us down in the last 10 minutes. In fairness to David Nurse and Quenton Kirby it is really hard for them to get going unless we establish an inside game."

On Quenton Kirby...
"I judge people on their approach and attitude and I think he is doing his job. He is more of a scorer than a shooter. He just couldn't get one to go down tonight but he handled the ball well. Overall, when you can't throw the ball inside to score and you're playing a pressure defense it is really hard to get a shot off."

On what the team got out of the road trip...
"We figured out how hard you have to work, how emotional you have to play and we also figured out that we have some guys on our team that can play. I think Matt Lander can play, and I think Jeremy Felton brings us offense but he needs to do better defensively. This weekend I put my team in a very difficult position we played one team that is about defensive awareness (Arizona State) and then we played another team that is about overpowering you physically (Kansas State) but we will work harder and get better."

On atmosphere in Bramlage Coliseum...
"Their students do a great job. It was very loud but I think our guys handled the pressure well. I just have to look at what we can do to face that pressure and perform at a higher level. That is what you have when you come play a school with tradition. Their students really get into it."
