Head Coach Frank Martin
On the change in the team's demeanor before going to Puerto Rico...
"I can promise you that our whole demeanor is going to change Tuesday in practice. I don't know what we're going to do in the games down there but the laid back casual approach that we've had back here the last four days, well that is going to change or we will have different people in uniform when we take the court in Puerto Rico."

On not playing Luis Colon tonight...
"If we were playing in a conference tournament then I would have put him on the floor. I mean I want him to have a successful senior year. I don't want him to battle an injury all year in and out. I want him to be fully healthy when he goes."

On what led to the better offense in the second half...
"I think we passed the ball a little bit. I mean Molinari, his teams have always been very similar defensively to the way that these guys play. They are going to congest people in the paint. They are going to defend the paint real well and they stick everyone in the paint. I think in the first half we were lackadaisical. We weren't very good with our approach. And then we had some turnovers where we were trying to dribble the ball early in the shot clock in the paint. That's not going to work because of how they play. In the second half we got more ball movement. That means we got the ball from side to side. We made that defense have to rotate and we continued to pound it inside which wears people down and then we started to see some cracks."

Kansas State Player Quotes
Sophomore Forward Jamar Samuels
On locker room atmosphere today...
"It was better than Friday. We didn't play as well. We have a day off tomorrow and then practice on Tuesday. We have to pick it up before we go to Puerto Rico because the competition is going to be a lot better than this weekend."

On the game today...
"The second half we played very well. We still need to get better before we go to Puerto Rico because Boston University is a good team and we will work on it Tuesday."

Junior Forward Curtis Kelly
On this week's practice...
"Practice is more of a learning thing. He (Coach Martin) tried to get us to know their (Western Illinois) offense and know what they do; and know his (Martin) defense. It wasn't one of his (Martin) killer practices. He did not run us that hard or anything; he just wanted us to learn."

On team's biggest area for improvement...
"Rebounding, we usually get out rebounded by a lot. Every player on our team is a good rebounder. We might end up doing the bubble drill on Tuesday. He told us to bring our lunch pails because it is going to be a tough one."
