Head Coach Ed Allen
“We couldn’t be more proud of our kids and the season that they had. Putting four freshmen on the floor and putting up 27 wins on the season after (graduating) seven players. It speaks volumes to the two kids that I have sitting next to me in their efforts to try and acclimate those (young) kids to the collegiate game. We played a tremendous K-State team that comes from a very strong league with three very good outside hitters that put a lot of pressure on our defense.”
On playing host
“I felt like our kids showed a great deal of heart throughout the course of the season. I thought it was going to be a huge test to such a youthful team but when you have someone that is directing the offense as talented as Julia (Silva) is and an outside hitter that keeps you in every game like Fabiola (Nepomuceno) does I think that you have always got a chance.”
On the expectation of the season...
“We were looking for more than just being happy to be here. We came in here with the intent to win a match, we took the floor with that intention and K-State did a great job of being patient and putting pressure on us. We made some mistakes at the service line that allowed them to come up with game one and they rode that momentum to games two and three.”
