Mississippi Valley State Head Coach Quotes

Mississippi Valley State Head Coach Nate Kilbert

On his team’s poor shooting...

“When you have three starters out, you don’t really expect a lot from people who haven’t had much of a chance to play. We feel like some of our kids that can hit those shots had some good looks, they just missed them. We got some good looks when they didn’t really have pressure on us. When you’re getting open looks and missing and your opponents come down and stick their shots, then you don’t stand a chance. I thought we’d shoot the ball a lot better. We didn’t have the inside presence that they have. I knew we were in trouble tonight, but I thought we would play a lot better than we did. Portia Wilson, who is one of our best players, had an awful game. You just can’t beat people when you play that bad.”

On any changes before tomorrows game against Idaho...

“We will try to go inside more against Idaho and use people like Porsche Wilson, Ashley (Robinson) and Jessica Williams to go around their post players. We’ll run a little bit more.”

On K-State’s play...

“It’s bad that we are 5’6, 5”7 and they are 6’2”, 6’3” and they were still beating us up and down the floor.”
