Missouri State Quotes

Head Coach Nyla Mileson
On team's performance ...
"I was really pleased with our effort, I thought we played a great 33 unfortunately the game is 40 minutes. To bring a young team into here and compete and challenge the way we did, I am very proud. We just got into some details that just broke us down that we need to get better at."

On difference of play between the two halves...
"(Ashley) Sweat took over. I am not sure we really had an answer for her and I thought we lost our legs a little bit on defensive intensity. The crowd got into it and we just did not handle some possessions very well."

On what to take away from the game...
"That this team can play. We can win a lot of ball games we just need to get focused on some detail. (K-State) got 2 huge offensive rebounds late that you cannot allow to happen. You have to be able to execute regardless of what they throw at you. We are just going to be a good team."

Freshman Forward Christiana Shorter
On team's play...
"Like coach said, we play pretty hard for the first 33 minutes but our legs got a little heavy and we gave up some huge rebounds at the end that they scored off of. So that was really the main thing that happened."

On K-State's defense in the second half...
"They played a good zone. We were a little frustrated, but I think that we just have to learn from that. I just think that we were just too slow and too passive instead of just attacking it and so that was what really got us."
