Grambling State Quotes

Head Coach Donnita Drain
On her team's performance...
"We started out pretty rough in the first 10 minutes of the game but we settled in at the end of the first half. I think in the second half we got a lot better. Wyneishia Randle came in and had 12 rebounds. She was our best post to match up with K-State. It was a good statement for us. We brought it to within 25 in the second half and near the end we made goals to keep it under 30 points. We did a lot of things right in the second half, we scored a little bit better and we held them a little bit better, we just have to use this as a learning experience."

On tomorrow's matchup with UTEP...
"Tomorrow we hope to relax and play a little better game, I want us to start the game off better tomorrow. We are truly outsized here in the Classic. I hope we can get in there and grit it out and not back down and be aggressive from the very beginning."

On benefits of playing in the Commerce Bank Classic...
"We've learned a lot about guarding great perimeter shooters. Prairie View A&M has set the bar in our conference and I don't think they have as good of outside shooters as K-State does. So we can go back and build on how well we played K-State in the second half. No one in our conference shoots the three that well and hopefully we can make a good run at the SWAC this year."
