K-State Player Qutoes

Junior Guard Jacob Pullen
On the game plan around Klay Thompson ...
"We really focused on not leaving Dominique (Sutton) on an island. If he ever got caught alone or if there were any problems we really tried to center our defense on making him pass the ball. He was the leading scorer in the country and we knew that he was going to get a certain amount of points. I think defensively we did what we wanted to do with him."

On reason for success tonight...
"Everything starts with practice. Practice was very competitive and very positive the last couple days. We didn't have people hanging their heads when they missed shots or because they weren't running with the first team. We just had a lot of energy. I think the energy we had tonight came from the energy that we had the last couple days in practice."

On the Xavier game...
"Nobody in the locker room has been talking about UNLV or Alabama. Now that the Washington State game is over we are all focused on Xavier. I don't want to say that it is a rivalry but a lot of us that played against them a couple years ago still have a bitter taste in their mouth. That was one of the worst losses I have suffered since I have been here. Personally I am really excited about this game."

Junior Guard Dominique Sutton
On guarding Klay Thompson ...
"I just tried to contain him a little bit. I tried to take away his left hand which is his strong hand. I tried to force him to the right, into the heart of our defense."
