Kansas State Player Quotes

Freshman Forward Jamar Samuels

On having six different players score in double figures...

“I think it’s a good thing. On any given night anyone can come in and score for us. If one player is not doing well, we have other players that can come in and step up for us.”

On whether he is becoming more comfortable after redshirting last year...

“I’m a lot more comfortable. Even working out this summer, I found a comfort spot with coaches and what we were doing.”

On getting a big lead early in the game...

“That was our main point for this year and this game. They’re good shooters, they just didn’t have a good night tonight. At halftime Frank (Martin) told us to come out and end the game. So that’s what we did.”

On getting extended minutes...

“It’s always good (to get more time). I think last game I played three minutes, so I just wasn’t really in the game. Today I got my mind focused and in the game and it turned out well.”

Sophomore Guard Jacob Pullen

On the team’s play today...

“Overall, everyone is more confident, when they feel like they (the coaches) are telling us to make shots and they know that we’re making plays, it just makes everything easier for everybody else, just as when Big Lu (Luis Colon) had a big game last game and then Jamar played well today. It makes everything easier as a team because you have to respect us inside and out.”

On the team having fun...

“When we play this well and when we play together as a team, those games are fun. We’re getting assists, we’re getting in transition, we’re doing everything we do in practice that makes."
