Opponent Quotes

Texas State Head Coach Suzanne Fox

On her thoughts about today’s game...

“Initially I was a little disappointed. K-State is a very good team and we knew that coming in. I didn’t think that we executed very well. That is just an aspect of something that we could have done a better job than we did tonight. We are work in progress. We are going to continue to get better throughout the year; and we will get that opportunity when we go to Wichita State on Tuesday.”

On improving shot distribution...

“We need to hit layups. If you look at the number of shots that we had in the paint and the number we made, for us to beat anybody, whether it’s K-State or league play, we have to hit layups. We had some really good looks in the first half and the second half we did some things that we wanted but we have to be able to make those shots.”

Senior Guard Joyce Ekworomadu

On her personal performance...

“A lot of my shots came off of penetration. My teammates did a good job providing me with some open shots. We tried some inside-out; which attracted a little defensive attention. A lot of my shots did come from one-on-one. We are going to work on that during practice and try to believe in our offense and try to execute.”

On K-State’s performance...

“They are definitely an aggressive team. I thought we came out pretty well in the first half; we just didn’t carry that into the second half. We just have to work during practice. Obviously K-State is in the Big 12, and one of the better teams. We just have to work harder.”
