Kennesaw State Head Coach and Player Quotes

Head Coach Tony Ingle
On the game...
“I thought we came out flat. We could not make a shot against their defense early. I believe that we were 1-of-11 shooting and (Kansas State) was 9-of-11 in their first 11 possessions. I’ve got to give them credit. They came out strong and we just couldn’t match it.”

On switching to a zone defense in the second half...

“I saw (Kansas State’s) whole team in the first half making shots they’re pretty good. I knew that we were going to have to try something different. I knew that we couldn’t match up with these guys man-to-man. Plus, we had a lot of guys in foul trouble coming out of the half. We just had to try something different.”

On playing Kansas State and Wichita State back-to-back...

“This is only our second year at Division I, so we’re still in our grace period. Our goal as a team is just to get better. I have a ton of respect for these two programs and these two coaches. We came here to learn something, and I hope that we can go back after these games and put it to use.”

Sophomore Guard Andre Morgan

On the game...

“(Kansas State) is a great team - they have a lot of great players. We just didn’t play well as a team. We didn’t play together, but K-State will do really well this year.”

On K-State’s start to the game...

“They were really fired up. We didn’t come out ready to play as well as they did. They came out ready, and they put it to us.”

On getting ready for Wichita State...

“We are going to try and focus - come together as a team. Wichita State is another great team. We just have to play together and I think we’ll be alright.”

Junior Forward Ronell Wooten

On the game...

“We didn’t play well as a team today. We came out too slow. (K-State) jumped out on us and never let up.”

On playing K-State...

“We haven’t played a game in two weeks. We’ve been practicing against each other. We were out of sync. We’ve been waiting for this game and anticipating it, but we couldn’t get our offense going. We need to pick up our defense.”
