Kansas State Head Coach Quotes

Kansas State Head Coach Bob Huggins
On his general thoughts on the game...
“We were able to play 10 guys. I thought all 10 guys played pretty hard. We’ve been trying to work on getting easy baskets. We did that. We got out and ran and got some easy baskets.”

On the second half...

“If we’re going to continue to progress, we have to go back and clean up some things. I talked to them at halftime about working on their game. It’s not about scores as much as it is about us getting better. We ran no offense and we really didn’t guard. We have to start rebounding the ball better. We didn’t rebound very well in the first half, and then we came out in the second half and rebounded equally as poor. It’s hard to come out and play with the same kind of intensity. I don’t know if we expected to have that same kind of intensity. But, I did expect us to try to work on our execution and we didn’t do that. So, it’s really a wasted half.”

On the play of Bill Walker...

“He wasn’t playing with the same kind of intensity. We’re trying to get him into game shape and he’s not going to get into game shape unless he plays. I thought he was good in the first half, but in the second half he was just like everybody else was he kind of sleep-walked through it.”

On Bill Walker’s minutes...

“We have good guys. There would be some teams where people would worry about losing some minutes, but we don’t have any of that. I think our just really want to win. We just don’t know how yet. In the second half, we proved that again that we don’t know how yet.”
