Kansas State is now 1-0 in the series after winning the first ever match-up with Maryland-Eastern Shore... Kansas State improved to 13-0 all-time against teams from the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference... Kansas State coach Bob Huggins improved to 3-0 against the Hawks.

 

Kansas State is now 207-80 (.721) in Bramlage Coliseum since its opening in the 1988 season... The Wildcats are now 835-321 (.722) all-time in home games.

 

  The Wildcats’ starting lineup Sunday night was: junior guard Clent Stewart, senior guard Lance Harris, junior forward David Hoskins, freshman forward Billy Walker, freshman center Jason Bennett... It is the first time this season this group has started a game... It is the 32nd start of Harris’ and Hoskins’ careers... Harris has now appeared in 74 straight games... Harris and Hoskins have started in each of the Wildcats’ first 11 games... Walker’s start is the first of his career after making his Wildcat debut on Sunday, Dec. 17.

 

Kansas State’s first five field goals were scored by five different players... In all, 12 Wildcats scored in the contest... The Wildcats scored 42 points off the bench, including Cartier Martin’s game-high 23... Kansas State scored 37 points off 32 Eastern Shore turnovers.

 

Kansas State led 46-23 at the half after shooting 52 percent (15-for-29) and forcing 21 turnovers in the first half... Kansas State trailed by four in the opening minutes but took their first lead of the game at 16:35 after a Jason Bennett jump hook made it 6-5... The Wildcats led 19-11 after the first ten minutes but closed the first half on a 27-12 run to push the lead to 23 at the break.

 

The Wildcats shot 50.9 percent (29-for-57) in the game and shot better than 50 percent for the fourth consecutive contest... The last time Kansas State shot 50 percent or better in four straight games was the 1988-89 season.

 

Martin reached double figures for the 9th time this season and 56th time in his career with a 23-point effort on Tuesday night... Martin has now scored 20 or more points 19 times in his career... Martin leads the Wildcats with 174 points this season, an average of 15.8 points per game... Martin ranks 11th behind Jack Parr (1,184) on the all-time career scoring list with 1,121 points and needs 64 to move into the top-10.

 

Walker scored 11 points and has now reached double figures in each of the first two games of his collegiate career... Walker notched 15 in his collegiate debut on Sunday.

 

Hoskins joined Martin and Walker in double digits with 16 points... It was the 8th time this season that Hoskins reached double figures and the 28th time in his career.

 

Bennett blocked two shots on Tuesday night and extended his season total to 27... Bennett, who surpassed Shawn Rhodes’ 95-96 freshman record of 24 on Sunday, has recorded a blocked shot in 8 of 11 games this season... His career-high for blocks is six, a school and freshman record, against California on Nov. 29... Bennett is averaging 2.45 blocks per game.
