Kansas State Player Quotes

Sophomore Dominique Sutton

On his performance...

“I guess it was just my night. We came back from break and got back into the gym and I came out today and felt pretty good.”

On the team’s performance tonight...

“I thought we played pretty well in the first half. In the second half, we didn’t play as well. In the first half we played well, we got out in the passing lanes, we got rebounds and overall I think we did all right, buy we’ve got to get better.”

On coming out more enthusiastically tonight...

“(Last game) I had a little injury, a toe injury, and that was a setback. I’m well rested now after the break, I was able to rest it over nine days and I’m feeling pretty good right now.”

On being more assertive offensively...

“That’s mostly me (making myself more assertive). I’m a rhythm player and as the game went on, I felt like it was one of my nights, so I was able to have a good game.”

Sophomore Jacob Pullen

On the first 15 minutes of the game...

“It felt good just to go in there and play against a good team. Coming back from the break after getting nine days off, it felt good just to get back out there. It felt pretty good and everyone was on the same page.”

On what made the open shots in the first half possible...

“Our defense.  (Head Coach) Frank (Martin) preaches getting up on them and getting them out of there offense, making them play helter-skelter and making them want to drive because they can’t get anybody open and that led to fast break points and open threes and we just built on that and took the lead.”

On having so many players playing well...

“It’s the same thing we’ve been saying all year, that on any given night, anyone can come out and explode and have a big game for us. You can’t guard just one person on our team, because if you stop them, then we have someone else step up and we still have a chance to win the game. It just speaks to how well we play as a team.”
