K-State Baseball Announces 11 NLI Signings

MANHATTAN, Kan. – The Kansas State baseball team made 11 additions to its program for the 2018 season during the National Letter of Intent (NLI) early signing period, head coach Brad Hill announced.

“We are extremely excited about this entire class,” said Hill. “Not only do they fill positions of need but they are all tremendous students with high character, the type of guys we want in our clubhouse. These guys, and our entire staff, are thrilled they chose to continue their education and baseball career at K-State.”

The signing class spans six states, including Kansas (4), Texas (3), Colorado (1). Minnesota (1), Missouri (1) and Nevada (1), and all will be entering K-State as freshmen.

The 2017 season is set to begin on February 17 in Kissimmee, Florida, at the Dodgertown Classic where the Wildcats will face Delaware, Ohio State and Pitt.

K-State will begin its home campaign on Friday, March 3 with a weekend series with Eastern Illinois, which starts a stretch of 14 consecutive home games in the month of March.

K-State, led by 14th-year head coach Brad Hill, returns 15 letterwinners from last year’s team that reached the Big 12 Baseball Championship for the ninth time in the last 10 years. Key returners include All-Big 12 selections infielder Jake Scudder and catcher Josh Rolette. Scudder was named 2016 Big 12 Newcomer of the Year and is part of the Wildcats’ nine-man senior class.

Season tickets are now on sale and fans can purchase season tickets at www.k-statesports.com/tickets, call 1-800-221-CATS (2287) or stop by the K-State Athletics Ticket Office in Bramlage Coliseum.
