K-State Duo Wins Kansas Four-Ball Championship

MANHATTAN, Kan. – Kansas State men’s golfers Ben Fernandez and @Connor combined to card a 36-hole score of 22-under par 122 to claim the 28th Kansas Four-Ball Championship title on Sunday at Eagle Bend Golf Course in Lawrence, Kansas.

Fernandez, a sophomore for the 2016-17 season, and Knabe, a senior-to-be, carded identical rounds of 11-under par 61 to win by three strokes over the duo of Chase Hanna and Charlie Hillier, teammates at KU. Fernandez and Knabe were bogey free throughout the day as they totaled 18 birdies overall and a pair of eagles in the first round.

K-State senior-to-be Jack Rickabaugh, along with his teammate Ben Maskus, tied for fifth with a score of 13-under par 131.
