K-State to Host Star Wars Day on Nov. 29

MANHATTAN, Kan. – With excitement building for the release of ‘The Force Awakens,’ Kansas State will host Star Wars Day at Bramlage Coliseum when the Wildcats host South Carolina State at 2 p.m., on Sunday, Nov. 29.

A number of activities are planned for the game, including appearances by a variety of characters and a fan costume contest. Prizes for the top costumes include a BB-8, the app-enabled droid, a remote-controlled Millennium Falcon and X-Wing Fighter as well as a voice-activated Jedi Master Yoda Figure.

The first 1,000 fans to the arena will receive a special Star Wars-themed koozie.

All students in attendance will be eligible to win one of two grand prizes, which includes a flat-screen TV and Blu-Ray player with the entire Star Wars series on Blu-Ray and a PS4 bundle with the new Star Wars video game.

The $20 Bramlage Bundle ticket option is available for the contest, which will include a Star Wars’ key strap. The Bundle includes a game ticket, $10 concessions voucher and a souvenir from the K-State Super Store for just $20 per package. A minimum order of two Bramlage Bundles is required.

The K-State Super Store will be selling a number of Star Wars-themed K-State items to promote the game, including t-shirts, flags, pennants, lanyards and koozies. A full inventory of items can be viewed at www.kstategear.com.

Fans are asked to bring a Star Wars-themed toy to donate to Operation Santa Claus, which benefits underprivileged families in the Manhattan/Riley County area.

Star Wars Day is just one of a number of promotions schedule for the 2015-16 season, including a Wildcat Weekend for Friday’s exhibition with Fort Hays State. Fans with a Baylor football game ticket can purchase a ticket for just $5.
