K-State Track Adds Four to 2016 Spring Signing Class

MANHATTAN, Kan. – The Kansas State track and field team has announced the addition of four more distance runners to the program, bringing the total number of spring signings up to 16 student-athletes, head coach Cliff Rovelto announced. 

The most recent additions to the program are: Sydney Collins; Katie Condon; Cayli Hume; and Anna Keeley. The four pushing the number of distance runners in the class to nine. 

Sydney Collins | Distance | Kitchener, Ontario, Canada
Collins joins the Wildcats after an impressive career in Canada. She was a multiple place winner at the Canadian Junior Championships and finished her high school career as an honor student.

800 Meter Run – 2:11.22
1500 Meter Run – 4:35.51

Katie Condon | Distance | Lake Forest High School | Lake Forest, Ill. 
Condon’s career was highlighted by finishing as the runner-up in the 1500 meter run at the 2015 USATF Youth Outdoor Championships with a time of 4:41.53. She graduated as an honor student. 

Cayli Hume | Distance | Dakota Ridge High School | Littleton, Colo. 
Hume is the only athlete in the signing class to come from Colorado and the first K-State athlete on the roster from Colorado since Tarique Hill (Aurora, Colo.) and Julia Nyiro (Parker, Colo.) in the 2013 season. She finished runner-up in the 2016 Class 5A Colorado track in the 800 meter run, posting a time of 2:12.07. She graduated high school with honors. 

Anna Keeley | Distance | Manhattan High School | Manhattan, Kan.
Keeley will stay in her hometown to compete for the Wildcats as she is the only Manhattan native in this class. She was an 11th-place finisher at the 2016 6A Kansas State High School Cross Country Championships.

The four women join the 12 other spring additions to the program who were announced on Wednesday. Also in the class is: Justin Davis (Sprints); Keegan Donahue (Distance); Colin Echols (Throws); Angelo Gordon (Jumps/Sprints); Akia Guerrier (Sprints); Travis Hodge (Distance); Madeline Neufeld (Distance); Konstantina Romaiou (Jumps); Jasper Schiedel (Multi), Nina Schultz (Multi); Nicholas Skinner (Distance) and Noah Stevenson (Distance). The spring class adds to an already impressive list of nine signees that K-State inked to NLIs during the fall signing period. Making up the signing class are: Paityn Howat (Distance); Helene Ingvaldsen (Throws); Gabi Lavington (Throws); Erin Lee (Distance); Wurrie Njadoe (Sprints/Jumps); Ariel Okorie (Multi); Lauren Taubert (Multi); Shaelyn Ward (Throws); and Jullane Walker (Sprints/Jumps).
