K-State's "All-Sesquicentennial" Team - Part 2

To help with the celebration, K-State Sports Extra has scoured the Wildcat record books and come up with the "All-Sesquicentennial Wildcat Team." Yes, the top 150 K-State athletes of all-time, which if nothing else, makes for great tailgating debate.

Included were the sensational oldsters of Elden Auker and Elmer Hackney. Auker was All-Big Six in baseball, basketball and football, while Hackney earned All-Big Six honors in track, football and wrestling.

Other more recent multi-sport stars are Steve Fritz (track Olympian, basketball), Terence Newman (football All-American and track Big 12 Champion), Percell Gaskins (NCAA high jump champion and football) and Kendra Wecker (basketball All-American and track Big 12 Champion).

Athletes were selected from 11 different decades with the goal of only trying to distinguish greatness for their specific time rather than comparing eras.

Automatic positions were awarded to members of the K-State Sports Hall of Fame, First Team All-Americans and Olympians, while other strong consideration went to other All-American recognition, NCAA champions and multi-year all-league status.

Without further sesquicentennial-hype, here are K-State Sports Extras 150 greatest of the all-time great Kansas State athletes - the "All Sesquicentennial Wildcat Team."
