-- Official Sports Report update: This past fall, we began a daily email service to provide our fans unique and timely features on all things surrounding K-State Athletics. Through our partnership with Learfield Sports, our multimedia rights holder, we worked with Official Sports Report, a company based out of Tulsa, to distribute these stories daily to approximately 35,000 Wildcat fans. Last week, OSR informed all 14 of its schools participating that they were ceasing their service. However, due to the tremendous response of our fans to the daily OSR our staff is already working to develop a replacement service. In the meantime, all of the features and stories that Mark Janssen has written for you will now be found each day on our official athletics website, www.k-statesports.com. We thank you for following the Cats and stay tuned as we work out these details.-- Baseball off to a Great Start: Coach Hill has the baseball team off to a tremendous 23-6 start, ranked 20th nationally in the latest Coaches poll and currently in second place in the Big 12. This past weekend, the club battled back from a tough loss on Friday to take the Nebraska series with two big wins on Saturday and Sunday. We had a three-game series record attendance of 8,540 last weekend and have averaged just under 2,200 fans per game this season in Big 12 Conference play. Come out to Tointon Stadium this weekend as we host Baylor in a key Big 12 series beginning Friday at 6:30 p.m. Following Friday night's contest, there will be a fireworks show for those in attendance. Saturday's game will start at 2 p.m. while the series finale on Sunday will get underway at 1 p.m. Tickets remain available for as low as $7 each!-- Spring Football/Purple White Game/MBB Autographs: Coach Snyder and the football team have been hard at work for nearly two weeks, preparing for the April 24 Purple/White game. Tickets for the annual spring game, which kicks off at 6:10 p.m., are on sale for $5 and can be purchased in person at the K-State Athletics Ticket Office or by calling 1-800-221-CATS. The men's basketball team will be signing autographs on the south concourse of the football stadium from 4:30 p.m. until kickoff of the spring game. Fans must have a ticket to the Purple/White game to participate and are limited to one signed item per person. Those in attendance will also be treated to a free concert in the East parking lot of Bill Snyder Family Stadium following the spring game. SpringFest, hosted by the Union Program Council, will feature music artists Nick Motil and Quietdrive.-- Open House/Powercat Auction: The game and concert will cap an exciting and eventful day at K-State as the University holds its annual Open House activities. You can view all activities surrounding Open House at: http://consider.k-state.edu/openhouse/2010/. Don't forget, the spring game weekend kicks off on Friday, April 23, with the 26th Annual Powercat Auction and golf tournament. The auction is the department's largest single-event fundraiser and has steadily increased in popularity in a packed Bramlage Coliseum. Lon Floyd and Bernie Haney have done a terrific job in preparation for the event, which will include numerous new auction items this year.-- 2010 Football Season Tickets: We encourage fans to plan ahead for the 2010 football campaign as season tickets remain on sale for those who have yet to renew or purchase. There is an assortment of options with incentive to purchase early as fans can utilize a four-payment plan option if they renew before April 30. A package of four End Zone Fun Zone season tickets are only $599 (savings of $197) if ordered by April 30, while season ticket holders also have until the same April 30 date to purchase tickets to the November 6 Texas game for only $60 each, a savings of $15. Coach Snyder and our football program continue to work hard for the start of the 2010 season and they are counting on your support!-- Track also Cracks Top 25: Our men's track team moved into the Top 25 last week at No. 22 and both squads will compete in the Kansas Relays this weekend in Lawrence.-- Tennis at Home: The women's tennis team recently shut out the Jayhawks, 7-0, and defeated Missouri on the road, 5-2. Coach Bietau and the Cats will host Oklahoma and Oklahoma State this weekend.-- Equestrian at Nationals: Our seventh-ranked equestrian team will compete at the Varsity National Championships this weekend in Waco, Texas.-- Rowing Heading to Tennessee: We also want to wish our rowing teams success this weekend as they head to Oak Ridge, Tenn., for the Southern IRA's!-- Golf Teams Prep for Big 12 Tourneys: Both of our golf teams will begin postseason play next weekend as they participate in the Big 12 Championships. The men will head to Trinity, Texas, while the women will tee it up in Norman, Okla.
