AT THE PLATE
K-State will wrap up its regular season this Thursday-Saturday with a three-game series at No. 11 TCU ... The Wildcats, who are in seventh in the Big 12 standings entering the final weekend, have won eight of their last 12 games ... Over its last 13 conference games, K-State is 8-5 ... TCU (35-14, 12-9 Big 12) is coming off a series loss at Baylor last weekend but has won five of its last seven games ... The Horned Frogs have dropped their last three conference series, two of which were on the road: at Oklahoma State, vs. Texas Tech, and at Baylor ... The Wildcats have won four of their last five weekend series, including three in Big 12 play ... While the Wildcats are seventh in the conference standings, TCU is third (half-game lead over fourth-place West Virginia, one-game back of second-place Oklahoma State) ... The Wildcats are 1.5 games ahead of last-place KU and one game back of sixth-place Texas.

LAST TIME OUT
K-State bounced back from a 4-1 loss in the series opener against KU last weekend and captured the final two games to take the series against its rival for the sixth time over the last seven seasons ... Ben Krauth limited the Wildcats to one run over 8 1/3 innings in the opener, but K-State was able to load the bases with one out in a scoreless bottom of the ninth ... In game two of the set, the Wildcats broke out for 18 hits - their most in a Big 12 game since April 2015 vs. TCU - and scored its most runs against its rival since 2011, beating the Jayhawks, 12-2 ... In the series finale, K-State had to overcome an early 4-0 deficit after the top of the third ... The Wildcats took the lead with a three-run third but a solo home run by Tyler Moore in the sixth provided the eventual game-winning run in their 8-5 victory.

INSIDE THE TCU SERIES
K-State trails in the all-time series against TCU, 7-10 ... The Wildcats won the season series in 2015, taking games one and three of the three-game set in Manhattan April 10-12 ... K-State is 3-8 all-time at Fort Worth, with its last win coming on March 8, 1987 (W, 7-6) ... In Big 12 play, the Wildcats have won two of the three series against the Horned Frogs ... K-State was swept in the last series at TCU in 2014.

SIGHTS ON THE POSTSEASON
Entering the final weekend, K-State is currently among the top-eight teams that qualify for the Big 12 Baseball Championship in Oklahoma City but it has not clinched a spot yet ... To qualify, the Wildcats need one of several scenarios to happen ... The earliest the Wildcats can clinch is on Thursday, if they beat TCU in the opener and KU loses to Oklahoma State ... K-State needs at least one win and a KU loss anytime this weekend to secure its ninth trip to the conference tournament over the last 10 years ... If KU loses its series at Oklahoma State, the Wildcats would clinch a spot in the tournament despite their own series result ... K-State holds the tiebreaker over Baylor, which is also 8-13 in Big 12 play.

GRAB SOME PINE
K-State has already registered one of the best seasons in terms of strikeouts in program history ... The Wildcat pitchers have 412 strikeouts this year, the fifth best total in school history ... This year is just one of eight seasons in program history in which it has 400+ strikeouts ... Last year, the Wildcats had 304 punchouts (35% increase so far) ... K-State needs 11 more strikeouts to tie for the fourth most in school history and 16 for third most ... The program record is 453 set in 2009 (62 games) ... The Wildcats are third among Big 12 teams in strikeouts in overall games.

YARD WORK
Josh Rolette hit his sixth home run of the season during the KU series, which places him in a tie with Jake Scudder for the team lead ... The six homers are the most by a K-State freshman since Jared King (8) in 2011 ... Five of Rolette’s six homers are in Big 12 play, which are the most by a Wildcat freshman in conference games since Brett Reid had five in 1999 ... Reid’s five homers are the most ever by a Wildcat freshman in conference games during the Big 12 era (since 1997) ... Rolette is tied for third - and first among freshmen - in home runs for Big 12-only games ... All six of Rolette’s homers this season have been against right-handed pitchers.

GREATEST HITS
Beyond the home runs, Josh Rolette also has 60 hits and 34 RBI ... He is the first Wildcat freshman since Nick Martini (78 hits, 50 RBI in 2009) with 60+ hits and 30+ RBI in a single season ... Rolette’s 60 hits, 34 RBI and 91 total bases are all the most by a K-State freshman since Martini ... In 2009, Martini totaled 111 bases - a program record for K-State freshmen ... Rolette’s 13 doubles are the most by a Wildcat freshman since Blair DeBord had 13 in 2010 ... The 60 hits are the third-most by a K-State freshman over the last 60 years.

SCUD MISSILE
Jake Scudder, who hit .583 (7-for-12) during the KU series, enters the final weekend of Big 12 play having reached in all 21 conference contests so far while also actively carrying a 15-game conference hitting streak ... The junior is currently second in conference-only hitting as he is batting .400 (32-for-80) and trails KU’s Michael Tinsley (.408) for the top spot ... The last Wildcat to lead the Big 12 in conference-only hitting was Austin Fisher (.412) in 2013 ... Scudder is also ninth in the Big 12 with a conference-only .462 OBP ... Over his last dozen Big 12 games, Scudder is hitting .489 (23-for-47) with six doubles, two home runs and 12 RBI.

SENIOR MOMENT
Clayton Dalrymple recorded four hits in the KU series, giving him a team-high 71 hits this season ... The 71 hits, which are second most among Big 12 hitters, are the most by a Wildcat since 2013 when six Wildcats had 70+ hits ... The senior entered the season with 85 career hits over 136 games ... Of Dalrymple’s 71 hits, 31 are in Big 12 games - which are tied for third best in the league and second on the team (Scudder, 32).

GETTING OFFENSIVE
K-State has scored 317 runs this season, in 52 games, which are its most in a campaign since 2014 (318) ... The Wildcats’ average of 6.1 runs per game is currently their third-best clip in regular season games over the last seven seasons ... K-State is third among Big 12 teams in runs scored and runs per game.
