LAST TIME OUT
K-State grabbed a series-opening win at Oklahoma last weekend but lost the series after dropping the final two contests ... It was the Wildcats’ first weekend series loss since April 8-10 vs. Texas ... Parker Rigler threw the Wildcats’ first complete game of the season to help lead them to a 9-3 in the opener ... While Rigler held the Sooners to one hit after the third inning, K-State’s offense was powered by home runs from Quintin Crandall - which made it 5-3 K-State - and Josh Rolette (two-run shot in the sixth) ... In the second game of the series, Oklahoma pulled away with six runs in the fifth to eventually beat the Wildcats, 10-1 ... K-State cut the deficit to 4-1 in the fourth when Cade Bunnell hit an RBI double, but the sixth featured 10 Oklahoma batters and six hits ... In the finale, Oklahoma captured a 12-0 win in a mercy-rule shortened seven-inning contest ... The Wildcats were held hitless until the sixth inning by Sooner starting pitcher Alec Hansen.

BIG 12 NEWCOMER OF THE WEEK
After throwing his first career complete game near his hometown of Edmond, Oklahoma, Parker Rigler was named Big 12 Co-Newcomer of the Week for the period ending May 8 ... The southpaw held Oklahoma to one hit after the third inning last Friday in Norman as he retired 18 of the last 20 batters he faced ... It was the first complete game thrown by a Wildcat since Nate Griep in May 2015 against Oklahoma ... Rigler is the fourth different Wildcat to earn a Big 12 weekly honor this season as he is joined by Jake Scudder (Newcomer, Feb. 29), Jake Wodtke (Player, March 7) and Josh Rolette (Newcomer, March 14).

GRAB SOME PINE
Parker Rigler also struck out four at Oklahoma, giving him 61 punchouts this season ... The junior is eighth in the Big 12 in strikeouts and first among newcomers ... Rigler is also the first K-State left-hander with 60 or more strikeouts in a season since 2011 when Kyle Hunter had 80 ... The last first-year Wildcat with 60 or more strikeouts was Carlos Torres (76) in 2004.

RECORD STORE
With the help of Rigler’s 61 strikeouts, K-State has 390 strikeouts as a team this season - already its most in a campaign since 2012 (423 in 58 games) and eighth most in program history ... The Wildcats are aiming for 400 strikeouts in a season for just the eighth time and need 12 more strikeouts to enter into a tie for seventh in school history ... The Wildcats are third in the Big 12 in strikeouts for overall games.

In addition to being third in the conference in total strikeouts, K-State is third in the Big 12 in strikeouts per nine innings with an 8.09 clip ... The Wildcats are looking to average 8.0+ K/9 innings for the first time in school history since 1976 (8.2) ... K-State has averaged 8.0+ K/9 innings just four times since 1966.

STRIKE BROTHERS
Levi MaVorhis (63 strikeouts) and Parker Rigler (61) are the first K-State teammates to have 60+ strikeouts in the same season since Kayvon Bahramzadeh (79) and Matt Applegate (60) did it in 2012 ... While Rigler is eighth in the Big 12 in strikeouts, MaVorhis is tied for sixth.

FRESH RELIEF
Mitch Zubradt struck out six in his two innings pitched last Sunday against Oklahoma, which were the most strikeouts by a K-State reliever since Brandon Erickson had six on March 25 vs. Oklahoma State ... Zubradt, who has 11 strikeouts in his last 6 2/3 innings, has recorded 28 punchouts this season - the most by a K-State freshman reliever since Jake Matthys in 2013 (39 in 33 relief outings) ... Also, Zubradt has not issued a walk since March 30 vs. Oral Roberts, helping him have the best K:BB ratio on the team (5.6).

HOME COOKING
