AT THE PLATE
The Wildcats, in the midst of a season-high five-game winning streak, will square off against Creighton (6-3; at KU on 3/8) in their first midweek contest of the season on Wednesday, March 9 at 3:05 p.m. ... K-State faces the Bluejays as part of its 12-game homestand, which started last weekend against UAPB ... The Wildcats moved to three games above .500 with a sweep of the Golden Lions ... Creighton enters the week on a six-game winning streak after losing its first three games of the season ... The Bluejays face KU on Tuesday in Lawrence before taking on K-State.

LAST TIME OUT
K-State scored double-digit runs in each of the three games against UAPB, sweeping the Golden Lions -- its first sweep since March 6-8, 2015 vs. Santa Clara ... The Wildcats only trailed for a combined one inning in the series ... They also had double-digit hits in all three contests.

INSIDE THE CREIGHTON SERIES
K-State leads the all-time series against Creighton, 50-39-1 ... The Wildcats have won four of the last six games against the Bluejays, a stretch that dates back to 2013 ... The two teams split their two-game midweek set in Manhattan last season, with K-State winning game one, 10-5, before falling in game two, 6-3 ... K-State is 36-18-1 all-time against Creighton in Manhattan ... Since 2004, the Wildcats are 4-4 vs. Creighton at Tointon Family Stadium ... The two teams met for the first time back in 1903 (second meeting: 1969).

BIG 12 PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Second baseman Jake Wodtke was named Big 12 Player of the Week for the period ending March 6 after hitting .727 (8-for-11) with 12 RBI in last weekend’s three games ... It was the first career weekly award for the redshirt junior ... Wodtke had a multi-hit and multi-RBI effort in all three games, including a career-high four hits in the opener and a personal-best six RBI in game two ... The six RBI were the most by a Wildcat in a single game since 2011 (Jason King, 7, vs. Northern Colorado, 3/30/11) ... Wodtke led all Big 12 hitters in AVG, OBP (.714) and hits for the week ... Wodtke is the first Wildcat to be named Big 12 Player of the Week since Shane Conlon on May 11, 2015.

RUNS BRIGADE
K-State scored 46 runs in the series against UAPB, its most runs in a three-game set since 2005 (51 vs. Saint Francis, 3/4-3/6) ... It is the second time in the last three years K-State has scored at least 45 runs in a three-game series (other: 45 vs. Northern Colorado, 3/14-3/15/14) ... The Wildcats had scored 49 runs in the first eight games of the season.

HEATING UP
In addition to scoring 46 runs, K-State hit .411 (46-for-112) in the UAPB series ... It was the first time since 2014 K-State hit above .400 in a three-game series (.455 vs. Northern Colorado, 3/14-3/15) ... The Wildcats entered the weekend batting .262 (68-for-260) in eight games ... K-State is now hitting .306 this year, the second best clip among Big 12 teams.

ON A WINNING NOTE
K-State is on a five-game winning streak entering the Creighton contest, its longest such stretch since 2014 when it won 12 straight 2/28-3/19 ... Over the last five games, K-State is averaging 15 runs per game while hitting .395 (73-for-185) ... The Wildcats also have a .487 OBP and .605 slugging percentage over the span ... K-State has an 8.8 average margin of victory over the streak ... The 75 runs are the most for the Wildcats in a five-game stretch since 2005 (84, 3/6-3/15).

CLUTCH HITTING
Over the last five games, K-State has come through with runners in scoring position, batting .466 (34-for-73) in such situations ... The Wildcats are also batting .529 (9-for-17) with the bases loaded over the same stretch ... Clayton Dalrymple and Jake Wodtke, who have hit at the top of the K-State lineup over the last five games, are among the team leaders with RISP as each are batting .700 (7-for-10) ... Other standouts include Tyler Moore (4-for-5, .800) and Tyler Wolfe (5-for-9, .556) ... In the first six games of the season, the Wildcats were 10-for-45 (.222) with RISP.

JAKE RAKES
Jake Wodtke has opened the season on a tear as he is batting .488 (20-for-41) through the first 11 games ... It is the highest clip by a Wildcat in the first 11 games of a season since Blair DeBord in 2010 (.514, 18-for-35) ... Wodtke’s .727 batting average in the UAPB series, meanwhile, was the best clip for K-State in a three-game set since Tanner Witt in 2013 (.750 vs. Bethune-Cookman) ... Wodtke is second among Big 12 hitters in 25th in Division I in batting average ... He is also first in the conference in OBP (.560) and second in hits, RBI (15) and runs (14) ... Wodtke had entered the season with 33 hits and 11 RBI in 60 career games.

TRIO PLATTER
Jake Wodtke is not the only Wildcat among the Big 12’s top-10 hitters entering the week as Tyler Moore (.387) and Clayton Dalrymple (.372) are sixth and tied for seventh, respectively ... Moore is hitting .600 (9-for-15) with three doubles, two home runs and 8 RBI over the last four games ... Dalrymple, meanwhile, has a seven-game hitting streak but is batting .476 (10-for-21) with three walks and seven RBI over the last five games ... Dalrymple’s seven-game hitting streak is tied with Wodtke for the longest by a Wildcat this year.

DOWN WITH OBP
Clayton Dalrymple has reached base safely in all 11 games this season, stretching his on-base streak carried over from last season to 18 games ... It is the longest active streak by a Wildcat ... Dalrymple is ninth in the Big 12 with a .471 OBP and tied for fifth in hits ... He has also been active on the base paths, stealing a Big 12-leading six bases.

UNWELCOME GUESTS
K-State has won 32 of its last 37 non-conference games at home, a stretch that dates back to a 4-3 over Minnesota on March 20, 2013 ... Under Brad Hill, K-State is 171-26 (.868) against non-conference opponents at home.

MILESTONE WATCH
K-State head coach Brad Hill is approaching a pair of career milestones ... The 13th-year K-State head coach is three victories away from 400 in his Wildcat career (397-307-3) ... He is also two shy of 900 in his complete head coaching career, which includes three years at Hutchinson CC (83-50) and nine years at Central Missouri State (418-91).
