AT THE PLATE
In its final stretch of non-conference games this regular season, K-State will play a home-and-home against Wichita State (16-27, 6-6 MVC) on Tuesday and Wednesday ... The Wildcats host the Shockers on Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. before heading to Eck Stadium for a 6:30 p.m. contest on Wednesday ... Wednesday’s game is a make-up game from the April 26 contest that was postponed due to rain ... K-State enters the midweeks winners in four of its last five and seven of its last 10 ... The Wildcats took a road series at Iowa last weekend, capturing the first game on Friday and then winning the second game of a doubleheader on Sunday ... Wichita State is coming off a series loss at Southern Illinois but is 5-4 over its last nine games ... The Shockers are 0-7 against Big 12 teams this season.

LAST TIME OUT
For the third straight weekend, K-State captured a series as the Wildcats took two-of-three at Iowa ... Facing cold and rainy conditions all weekend, the two sides played on Friday followed by a doubleheader on Sunday ... The Wildcats took game one of the series by a score of 3-2 after taking a 2-0 lead after the fifth and 3-1 advantage after the seventh ... Starting pitcher Parker Rigler turned in a quality start, holding the Hawkeyes to one run over six innings while striking out seven ... Four relievers limited Iowa to one run over the final three innings ... In game one of Sunday’s doubleheader, Iowa’s Joel Booker hit a solo home run off Colton Kalmus in the seventh to provide the difference in a 2-1 K-State loss ... The Wildcats were held to a season-low four hits while the lone run was driven in on a groundout by Quintin Crandall ... In the series finale, K-State never trailed, taking a 1-0 lead in the first and breaking a 1-1 tie in fourth on a sacrifice fly by Tyler Moore ... An RBI double by Crandall in the sixth drove in the eventual game-winning run and made it 3-1 ... Lucas Benenati turned in a two-inning save to preserve the 4-2 victory.
