BIG 12 OPENERS
For the first time since 2013, K-State opens its conference schedule at home ... The last two years, the Wildcats started Big 12 play at then-No. 30 Oklahoma (2014) and No. 24 Texas (2015) ... The last time K-State won its first Big 12 series of a season was when it opened its conference schedule at home ... Three years ago, it dropped the first game of the set (and a doubleheader) against West Virginia before winning the final two contests by one-run margins.

FRESHMAN 13
K-State has utilized 13 freshmen this season, its most ever under head coach Brad Hill (since 2004) ... The previous most for freshmen played in a single season under Hill was 12 in 2009 (Also in 2006) ... The six freshman position players are the most for K-State since 2011 (6) while the eight pitchers are the most under Hill (previous: 7, 2014) ...
