Panaite, Stretton Earn Wins on Day Two

DES MOINES, Iowa –
Maria Panaite and Millie Stretton picked up singles wins while Livia Cirnu and Millie Stretton earned a doubles win on day two of the Drake Jamboree at the Roger Knapp Tennis Center.

The Wildcats went 2-1 in singles on day two of play in Des Moines.  Panaite won her fourth straight match by defeating Liera Bender of Iowa State 6-1, 6-0.

Stretton defeated Iowa’s Taylor Tamblyn 6-1, 6-2 to improve to 6-4 on the season and Cirnu dropped her match to Carin Runefelt of Iowa 6-3, 6-4.

Cirnu and Stretton competed in two doubles matches against Iowa State, defeating Bender and Natalie Phippen 6-1 for the duo's first win of the weekend before losing to Samantha Budai and Liza Buss 6-4.

K-State will wrap up play at the Drake Jamboree on Sunday
