Post Match Quotes vs. UMKC

K-State Head Coach Mike Dibbini
On Larkin…
“All I wanted was to get into the second half with a zero to zero game so that we could make the right adjustments and obviously the adjustments worked and I felt like Larkin did a really good job of keeping us in the game, we had chances, they had chances, but she kept us in the game. Then we took care of business the second half.”

On adjustments…
“We wanted to avoid their midfield and playing through the center of the field because that is the strength of their team. We wanted to challenge them to play a little bit more direct wide and then once we got the ball wide, start possessing the ball and switching the point of attack. Immediately you could see the results and the game changed right away. We broke pressure by playing a little direct in wide areas and then we started possessing it high up the field and that’s when the game kind of just opened up for us.”

On last home win…
“I think it is great to have a strong win not only finishing it out but a win that can hopefully carry over some momentum. It felt good. It was a really good win. It was a collective effort by the defensive and offensive units and goal keeping so this was probably our best overall performance for ninety minutes and I am very pleased.”

Freshman MF/F, Ashley Zane
On First Goal…
“I have been working hard this year and never got my opportunity to score and it was just awesome getting that ball that went from Laramie. I just knew it was going in. It is great to score against UMKC because I got offered there and was about to go there before I committed here. So it was just awesome to finally get that first goal against UMKC.”

On second straight win…
“We are really excited but we still have to stay focused because Drake is a big opponent for us. For us it would just have to be, stay focused and take this away and keep building on from it.”

On Larkin as a goalie…
“Having her back there saves us so much. They had a lot of opportunities on us but her saves saved us tremendously.”

Freshman MF/F, Laramie Hall
On scoring the clincher…
“It feels really good especially because we kind of have a habit of letting teams come back so just to make it two to zero and make it that much harder on them, it was really exciting.”

On Larkin as a goalie…
“It makes it a whole lot easier and in practice and in all these games that we have had, we have grown to have a level of comfortability around her and just knowing that on long shots she is going to get it and there is no doubt in my mind. So it is a lot easier to be out here and know that if they do break us down defensively we have got someone really dependable in the goal and that is great to have.”
