Promotion-Packed Weekend on Tap for Texas Series

MANHATTAN, Kan. – K-State baseball returns to Manhattan this weekend for a three-game Big 12 series against Texas, and the Wildcats will be holding a promotion-packed slate for the set of contests, including Blackout Tointon, Junior Wildcat Day, Military Appreciation Day and a free camouflage hat giveaway for Fan Appreciation Day.

In the opener against the Longhorns on Friday, the first 150 fans will receive a free black K-State baseball t-shirt as all fans are encouraged to wear black and help “black out” Tointon Family Stadium for the 6:30 p.m. game. The team will also be donning its black jerseys and hats. 

On Saturday, it will be Military Appreciation Day and Junior Wildcat Day for the 2 p.m. contest. As part of Military Appreciation Day, all fans with a military I.D. can purchase a $3 general admission ticket. Junior Wildcat members, meanwhile, can purchase select $1 candy as well as take part in the pregame Fun Zone located in the Cat Town area beyond the left field wall. 

The series finale on Sunday at 1 p.m. is Fan Appreciation Day, with the first 150 fans receiving free camouflage K-State baseball hats. Also, fans can purchase the Wildcat 4 Pack, which includes four general admission tickets and four helmet ice cream sundaes for $36. As with every Sunday, it is Family Day as there will be Willie’s Fun Zone (pregame) and Kids Run the Bases (postgame).

Tickets can be purchased in advance by clicking here, calling 1-800-221-CATS (4487) or visiting the K-State Athletics Ticket Office in Bramlage Coliseum. Fans can also purchase tickets on gamedays at the Tointon Family Stadium ticket window starting one hour before first pitch.

The Texas series is K-State’s second of four Big 12 home series this season. The Wildcats have been in a four-game road stint, which ended on Tuesday with a 4-2 win at Nebraska.
