Rohleder Named to CoSIDA Academic All-District 7 Team

MANHATTAN, Kan. – Senior Brian Rohleder was once again rewarded for his excellence in the classroom on Thursday, as he was one of six players named to the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-District 7 Men’s Basketball First Team.

A 6-foot-3, 215-pound guard from Wichita, Kansas, Rohleder now advances to the CoSIDA Academic All-America Team ballot, where first-, second- and third-team All-America honorees will be selected later this month.

An Academic All-Big 12 First Team selection as a junior, Rohleder has appeared in 19 games this season and 62 in his four-year career at K-State. He is averaging 0.1 points and 0.4 rebounds in 1.8 minutes per game.

A former walk-on, Rohleder was awarded an athletic scholarship for the 2015-16 season over the summer.

The mechanical engineering major and a product of Bishop Carroll High School has appeared on every Fall and Spring Big 12 Commissioner’s Honor Roll since his freshman season in 2011-12, including earning a perfect 4.0 GPA during the Spring 2015 semester. A two-time President of the K-State Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) and current student-athlete representative on the President’s Advisory Committee on Athletics, he has won or shared the team’s Keith Amerson Academic Award each of the past four years.

Kansas State (14-10, 3-8 Big 12) returns to action on Saturday with a trip to Stillwater, Okla., to face Oklahoma State (11-13, 2-9 Big 12) at noon CT on ESPNews.
