SE: Innovation and Inspiration: The Campaign for Kansas State University

Last October, Kansas State University kicked off Innovation and Inspiration: The Campaign for K-State with the goal of raising $1 billion to help advance the university.

From elevating the student experience on campus to enhancing the student-athlete experience to making the facilities at K-State the very best training ground for future Wildcats, this campaign will help drive progress toward K-State’s strategic vision to become a Top 50 public research university by 2025.

“K-State is a family, and nothing demonstrates that more than the way our supporters have rallied around this campaign,” said Greg Willems, president and CEO of KSU Foundation. “The generosity and commitment of our donors are fueling not only the success of the campaign, but the future of Kansas State University.”

The most ambitious fundraising campaign to date, the Innovation and Inspiration Campaign is made possible by generous private gifts from alumni, friends and corporations. As of April 1, 2016, Innovation and Inspiration has raised more than $845 million and is well on its way to its goal of $1 billion.

The Innovation and Inspiration Campaign is a comprehensive fundraising effort that includes participation from K-State Athletics, KSU Foundation, K-State Alumni Association and campus. All gifts to K-State Athletics and the Ahearn Fund help to advance the campaign’s progress.

“The grassroots support of K-Staters worldwide through the Innovation and Inspiration Campaign illustrates the commitment to furthering Kansas State’s status as a Tier 1 Carnegie Foundation University and goal of becoming a Top 50 public research institution,” said Athletics Director John Currie. “This $1 billion campaign is an investment in all 24,000-plus K-State students, providing transformational improvements in campus facilities and programs, and further proof of the unwavering support from the entire K-State Family.”

The campaign looks to strengthen the interconnectivity between intercollegiate athletics and the campus community and prepare K-State student-athletes for success in school, in sport and after graduation and benefit the university, community and state. It helps develop K-State student-athletes into well-rounded champions both on and off their respective playing field.

A few the campaign’s most generous givers are committed to supporting K-State through both academics and athletics. This passionate group has gone above and beyond in making the dreams of K-State students and student-athletes a reality.
