Wildcats Announce Changes to Home Meet

Feb. 6, 2014K-State AthleticsMANHATTAN, Kan. – K-State Track and Field announced changes to the team’s final home meet of the indoor season, the K-State Open. Scheduled for Friday Feb. 21, the K-State Open starting time has been moved to 5 p.m. and will conclude with track events, scheduled to begin at 7 p.m.

The meet was originally slotted to begin at 11 a.m. with the women’s weight throw and continue throughout the day with the track events, starting at 2 p.m., closing the day’s action. This is the second change to the open this year, as the meet was originally set to take place on Feb. 22.

The women’s hammer throw will still open the K-State Open and the meet will conclude with the women’s and men’s 4x400 meter relays. Slight changes within the event order include the long jump taking place before the high jump, as well as no preliminary rounds taking place for the 60 meter dash or 60 meter hurdles.
