MANHATTAN, Kan. – Heading into this week’s Big 12 Indoor Track & Field Championships, senior mid-distance runner Boglarka Bozzay will be the reigning Big 12 Athlete of the Week. Bozzay received the final award of the indoor season for her dominant performance over the weekend at the Nebraska Tune-Up.

With the rest of the Wildcats hosting the KSU Open on Friday, Bozzay travelled north to Lincoln to run in the women’s 800 meters. She won the race by more than four seconds to keep her undefeated season going as she has now won all eight races she has competed in. Her time of 2:05.16 broke the K-State school record and the Devaney Center facility record. The school record was seven years old, and the Devaney Center record was six years old. The time also puts Bozzay ninth on the NCAA list this season heading into championship week for most conferences.

This is the first Big 12 Athlete of the Week honor for the Wildcats this season. This week’s male winner was Alex Madkins from Oklahoma for his efforts in the long jump in winning the Oklahoma Invitational.
