Ramos Named All-American

MANHATTAN, Kan. - Senior Beverly Ramos was named to the USTFCCCA All-America team for her impressive showing at the NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships in Arkansas last week. Ramos shattered the school record by more than 20 seconds to finish 10th in the 5,000 meters clocking 16:08.60.

The USTFCCCA awards All-America certificates to individuals finishing in the top eight at the NCAA Championships. In addition, the top eight finishing athletes among U.S. citizens from the NCAA Championships gain All-America status.

Ramos finished 10th in a very deep field in the 5,000 meters that saw the top six runners crack the 16-minute mark. This is her first indoor All-America honor as she closed her cross country career this fall with her first All-America selection. She also has one outdoor All-America award for the 3,000 meter steeplechase.
