Kansas State Track Runs into ASU Invitational

MANHATTAN, Kan. - The Kansas State track and field team travels to the Southwest this weekend to compete at the Arizona State Invitational in Tempe. The Wildcats will take 12 student-athletes to take on a strong field at Sun Angel Stadium on Saturday.

Five men will wear Purple on Saturday for the Wildcats with hurdlers Balazs Baji and Jeffrey Julmis making their outdoor debuts for Kansas State in the sprint relays. Freshmen Grant Loescher and Ben Love along with Jason Coniglio will run for the Wildcats as well. Loescher will run a leg in both the 4x100 and 4x400 relays. Love will run with Baji in the 200 meters as well.

The women will field a small group of distance runners along with a trio of Wildcats in both hurdles events. Denise Baker headlines the hurdlers joined by freshmen Lauren Garrott and Cenarda Jackson. Emily Dittemore and Emilee Morris will run in three events on Saturday beginning with the 1,500M, the 800M and finishing with the 5,000M. Alyssa Bellinder and Martina Tresch will join the pair in the 5,000M.

Last season at the ASU Invitational Baker finished fourth in the 100 meter hurdles, and Coniglio also finished fourth in the 100 meter dash.
