K-State Announces Changes to Home Meet

April 29, 2014K-State AthleticsMANHATTAN, Kan. – K-State Track and Field announced changes today to this Saturday’s Ward Haylett Invitational. Originally scheduled to start at 11 a.m., the Wildcats’ first home meet of the season will now begin at 9:30 a.m.

Track events, which were originally scheduled to start at 4 p.m., will now take place at 2:30 p.m., beginning with the women’s 3000 meter steeplechase. Aside from changes to the event start times, the event order will remain the same with action still set to kick off in the morning with the women’s javelin throw.

The Wildcats play host to Kansas, Wichita State and Air Force Academy this weekend in a team scored meet. K-State will also welcome members of the 299th Brigade Support Battalion to the meet, as the track and field team’s partner unit will be presenting the third annual Heartbeat of the Team Award. Tentatively scheduled for 2 p.m., the award presentation will be followed by K-State recognizing this year’s outgoing crop of seniors.

Admission to this weekend’s meet at R.V. Christian Track Complex is free for fans wanting to attend.
