MANHATTAN, Kan. – Kansas State long jumper Nina Kokot was recognized on Thursday for her hard work in the classroom by being selected to the Capital One Academic All-District Team. Kokot was named to the second team in District VII voted on by members of College Sports Information Directors of America.

Kokot receives the honor for the first time in her career and graduated this spring with her degree in kinesiology and tallying a 3.919 GPA. She currently ranks 10th in the NCAA this season with her leap of 21-2.50 at the Drake Relays. The native of Slovenia will be competing for the Wildcats at the NCAA Championship next week in Des Moines, Iowa.

This award adds to the long list of academic accomplishments by K-State student-athletes this year as the Wildcats currently hold the No. 1 all-sports graduation rate in the Big 12, an honor it has staked claim to in each of the past four years.
