Trio of Wildcats Earn Academic All-District

MANHATTAN, Kan. - Three Kansas State Wildcats were recognized on Thursday for their hard work in the classroom by being selected to the ESPN the Magazine/CoSIDA Academic All-District Team. The trio of Beverly Ramos, Moritz Cleve and Jack Sachse all made the All-District VII Team voted on by members of CoSIDA.

Cleve and Sachse each earned First Team honors making them eligible for the Academic All-America Team as well, while Ramos was selected to the women's Second Team. All three were named to the Big 12 All-Academic First Team earlier in the season.

Cleve holds a 3.48 GPA in journalism and is one of the nation's top decathletes currently ranked 14th heading into next week's NCAA Championship where he finished third last year. This is his first Academic All-District honor.

Sachse finished 15th at the NCAA West Regional Championship last week in the 800 meters and also came in fourth at the Big 12 Championship. He makes the grade with a perfect 4.0 GPA in political science.

Ramos is ranked fifth in the nation in the 5,000M and earned All-America honors during the indoor season in the event as well. She finished sixth at last week's Regional to advance to the NCAA meet where she will look to earn All-America status in all three cross country and indoor and outdoor track. Ramos graduated with a double-majoring in physical science and chemistry with a 3.84 GPA. This is her first ESPN/CoSIDA Academic All-District honor as well.
