Four Wildcats Make All-America Team

MANHATTAN, Kan. Following their strong performances at the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships a quartet of Wildcats have been named to the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association All-America team.

Moritz Cleve, Jason Collett, Loren Groves and Scott Sellers all received the honor from the USTFCCCA. For Cleve and Collett this is their first outdoor honor. Groves is recognized for the second year in a row while Sellers completes his career with four outdoor certificates.

Sellers won the high jump title to claim the sweep of both indoor and outdoor championships this season. This outdoor All-America award gives him eight total for his career in both indoor and outdoor track and field and makes him the school’s first eight-time All-American in one event.

Groves adds to her long list of accomplishments in her career at K-State with a total of four All-America certificates. She earned two in outdoor for the hammer throw and two indoor in the weight throw. She finished seventh at this year’s championship to earn her hammer throw award.

Cleve now has a total of two All-America awards for his career as the sophomore finished third in the tightly contested decathlon in Arkansas last week. He also earned All-America status at this year’s indoor championship in the heptathlon.

Collett received the award for the first time closing his career strongly in his only NCAA Championship meet finishing ninth in the men’s 800 meters in Arkansas.
