Sachse Earns Academic All-America

MANHATTAN, Kan. - Junior runner Jack Sachse is the latest Wildcat to make the grade for Kansas State as he was named to the ESPN the Magazine/CoSIDA Academic All-America Track & Cross Country Team. Sachse was voted to the third team for his performance both on the track and in the classroom as he graduated this semester with a perfect 4.0 GPA in social science.

Sachse finished fourth at the Big 12 Outdoor Track and Field Championship in the 800 meters with a new personal best time 1:49.66. He went on to finish 15th at the NCAA West Regional to just miss qualifying for the NCAA Championship in the event. During indoor season, Sachse finished sixth at the Big 12 Championship. He also ran cross country for the Wildcats in the fall.

With his selection to the ESPN/CoSIDA Academic All-America Team, Sachse is the 10th Wildcat to receive the honor in the last four years. He also is the fourth Wildcat this year to receive Academic All-America honors overall. Sachse was eligible for the All-America Team by being named to the Academic All-District First Team.
