Four Wildcats Named to All-Academic Team

MANHATTAN, Kan. – For their efforts in competition and in class a group of four Wildcats have been recognized by the USTFCCCA and named to the organization’s All-Academic Track & Field Team. Two women and two men each made the team for Kansas State with three repeat honorees and one first-time recipient.
 
Beverly Ramos closed her career as an All-American on the track in all three cross country, indoor and outdoor track and added to her long list of accomplishments with another USTFCCCA All-Academic Team award. Ramos has now received this honor three straight years as she graduated with a 3.841 GPA in physical science, chemistry and pre-pharmacy. She also received ESPN the Magazine/CoSIDA Academic All-District this season as well.
 
Ramos was joined on the women’s team by freshman Sara Stoakes. Stoakes won the 800 meters at the Big 12 Outdoor Championship and is majoring in animal science with a 3.733 GPA through her first year at K-State.
 
For the men Moritz Cleve and Jack Sachse both repeat on the USTFCCCA All-Academic Team. Both also received Academic All-District from ESPN the Magazine with Ramos.
 
Cleve finished 10th at the NCAA Championship in the decathlon, and Sachse finished 15th in the men’s 800 meters at the NCAA West Regional just missing a spot at the NCAA Championship. Cleve is majoring in journalism and holds a 3.486 GPA, and Sachse has graduated early with a perfect 4.0 GPA in political science. Sachse also was a recipient of the Dr. Prentice Gautt Postgraduate Scholarship from the Big 12.
 
To be eligible for the USTFCCCA All-Academic Team a student-athlete must have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.25 and have met either the NCAA Indoor provisional or automatic qualifying standard or the NCAA Outdoor regional or national qualifying standard in their respective event.
