MANHATTAN, Kan. - The Kansas State women's cross country team took second place on Saturday at the Cowboy Jamboree in Stillwater, Okla. Senior Sydney Messick paced the team with a second-place finish clocking a time of 21:14. Messick said she was pleased with both her personal and team's performances.

"I think that our girls competed very well. It was really strong up front and the stronger competition pushed us today and I felt really comfortable for the whole race" said Messick.

The Wildcats also placed three other runners in the top 10 with Boglarka Bozzay claiming seventh, Martina Tresch finishing eighth in her season debut and Avery Clifton taking 10th place.

The men's team had a strong outing finishing fifth overall. Junior Armando Del Valle led the charge for the men finishing 24th overall in 25:45.
