MANHATTAN, Kan. - The Kansas State men's and women's cross country teams travel to Terre Haute, Ind., as they will be competing in Pre-Nationals hosted by Indiana State this weekend. K-State will compete in four races on Saturday. The women's 6k White race will begin at 11:35 a.m and the men's 8k White race will start at 12:50 p.m. The women's 6k open race kicks-off at 1:30 p.m with the men's open race following at 2:05 p.m.

Head Coach Michael Smith sees this as an opportunity to measure where his teams are at against some of the best teams in the country.

"This is going to be good for the kids, there is an electric atmosphere and high energy. We are going to find out how good we really are," said Smith. "They are prepared for this race."

The women's team will face its toughest competition yet on Saturday as the Wildcats will be running against eight teams who are ranked in the USTFCCCA coaches poll. K-State will send seven runners led by Senior Sydney Messick who will look to push the pace for the Wildcats. Junior Emilee Morris and freshman Sarah Swenson will be competing in the open race.

The men will also face stiff competition as they will face off against eight teams ranked in the coaches poll. Junior Armando Del Valle will look to keep the Wildcats competitive. Senior Sam James, sophomore Jacob Davies and freshman Andrew Stevens will be racing in the open race division.
