Galvan Named to All-Midwest Regional Team

MANHATTAN, Kan. - Junior Laura Galvan of the K-State women's cross country team has earned herself another honor. On Tuesday, she was named to the USTFCCCA All-Midwest Regional team. 

To qualify for the All-Midwest team, Galvan had to finish in the top 25 in the Midwest Region. Galvan finished in 16th with a time of 20:54.20.

It is the second-straight year Galvan has been named to the Regional team. Last year, she earned the honor after placing seventh with a time of 20:45.72. This is the sixth consecutive year that the Wildcats have had at least one runner named All-Regional. Along with Galvan, Martina Tresch was named to the team in 2010 and 2011 as a sophomore and junior. Sydney Messick was also named to the all-regional team in 2010 as a senior. Beverly Ramos was named to the team in 2008 and 2009 as a junior and a senior.

The women's team finished its season this past Friday at the Midwest Regional Championships where they finished in 13th place.
