MANHATTAN, Kan. - Kansas State was picked in Collegiate Baseball's Preseason Top 40 Poll, while Nick Martini was named a Second Team Preseason All-American by College Baseball Lineup, the organizations announced.

K-State checked in at No. 37 in the Collegiate Baseball Top 40 Preseason Poll. It marks the second straight year the Cats have been ranked in the preseason after the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) slotted the Cats 34th prior to the 2010 season.

The Wildcats were joined in the poll by Big 12 members Oklahoma (No. 6), Texas (No. 7), Texas A&M (No. 8) and Baylor (No. 39).

Martini's second-team distinction by College Baseball Lineup was his second of the preseason after the NCBWA tabbed the outfielder as a third team All-American.

The reigning Big 12 Player of the Year, Martini was a second team All-American pick by the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) following his sophomore season. The Prairie Ridge, Ill., product led the Big 12 in hitting with a .416 average, while he was also tops in on-base percentage, second in hits and third in walks.
