Baseball to Sign Autographs Saturday

MANHATTAN, Kan. As fifth year head coach Brad Hill looks to field potentially his best squad in 2008, the Kansas State baseball team will be signing autographs for fans on the concourse of Bramlage Coliseum prior to Saturday’s men’s basketball game against Texas A&M.

The autograph session, which begins as 2 p.m., will feature a Wildcat squad that returns eight starting position players and its entire pitching staff from a team that won 34 games a year ago. Preseason All-America relief pitcher Daniel Edwards, returning starting pitchers Brad Hutt and Chase Bayuk and sluggers Byron Wiley, Nate Tenbrink and Drew Biery will lead the Cats into a highly anticipated spring.

In addition, information will be available regarding season ticket packages for the 29-game home schedule that features 13 games against teams ranked in the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association’s preseason top 30. The home slate includes non-conference matchups against preseason No. 1-ranked Arizona State, No. 10 Wichita State and No. 22 UC-Irvine in addition to Big 12 series against No. 6 Texas, No. 26 Baylor and No. 27 Oklahoma State.

Arizona State and UC-Irvine both advanced to the College World Series in 2007, while Wichita State and Oklahoma State played in the Super Regional round.

With the installation of approximately 500 new chairback seats in Tointon Family Stadium, new season-ticket packages are available. Premium Reserved chairbacks, located in the lower bowl behind home plate and adjacent to the dugouts, are priced at $125. General admission chairbacks, in the center sections above the concourse walkway, are $100 for the season, while general admission bleacher season seating is $75.
