K-State's Season Opener Postponed

STOCKTON, Calif. – Due to consistent rain in the San Joaquin Valley, Kansas State’s season opener against Pacific on Friday has been postponed.

The area has received over an inch of rain over the past two days and the forecast indicates that rain will continue until early Saturday morning.

The two teams are now scheduled to play a doubleheader on Saturday beginning at 4 p.m. (CT). The series will conclude on Sunday with a 1 p.m. (CT) first pitch.

Both games of Saturday’s doubleheader can be heard online (for free) at both www.k-statesports.com and www.1350kman.com, while listeners in the Manhattan area can catch a majority of the second game on SportsRadio 1350 KMAN following the conclusion of the K-State women’s basketball game at Nebraska. Sunday’s game will be available both online and on KMAN.

Additionally, K-State received word that its game against Western Kentucky next Friday, Feb. 25, in Conway, S.C., has been moved to a 1 p.m. (CT) first pitch.

Kansas State opens its 31-game home schedule with a four-game series against Western Illinois beginning on Friday, March 4.
