MANHATTAN, Kan. – Kansas State has altered the schedule for its home-opening three-game series against Oakland due to field conditions at Tointon Family Stadium and forecasted low temperatures.

With temperatures predicted in the low 30s on Friday but rising throughout the weekend, the teams will now open the series with a single game at 1 p.m., Saturday before wrapping up the series Sunday with a doubleheader beginning at 12 p.m.

K-State Athletics operations crews have been busy this week clearing the field and stadium seating areas from the 10-plus inches of snow received from the two winter storms that hit the region the past week.  The stadium’s main grandstand will be open for fan seating, but the grassy berm along the left-field line and the right-field bleachers will be unavailable due to snowpack.

All three games can be heard online at both and, while K-StateHD.TV will broadcast Sunday’s twin bill. SportsRadio 1350 KMAN will also air Sunday’s doubleheader in its entirety.

Season and single-game tickets remain on sale through the K-State Athletics Ticket office online at, by phone at 1-800-221-CATS or in person inside Bramlage Coliseum.
